Welcome Lancetta!
I recall the first tour, my wife and I were all nervous (well, she more than I as I have done tours in the past). We overtrained. If you get some time in the saddle, you'll be fine. You'll find riders going your pace, and make lots of friends. Keep hydrated!
that last hill coming over and into Ashland with Chaquamegon Bay in the distance... now there is an emotional rush. The north south route is awesome.
My wife and I will be site coordinators in Mellen. See y'all in Wautoma!

Hi Lanette,
I will be on the Northwoods tour also. Your training regiment is very similar to mine. I was on this tour last year and didn't have any problems. I am going to do some longer weekend rides in preparation this year though.
A tour like this will most likely be a very memorable event for you. You will probably meet some very nice people, and the organizers are top notch folks. I met them at the bike swamp meet in Madison this last winter and they are good people.
You know,... when you ride, eat, and basically live with each other for a week with just you and your bike and an ultimate destination it has a bonding affect.
That last day when you arrive at the final destination it makes (me anyhow) feel like you won the Olympics or something. All that training and week long riding, meeting people, visiting small towns on your bike is a unique experience. Hope it is for you too!
See you on the ride.

Just want to say hello as I am new to this tour and this forum.
I am 51, a mother/grandmother, and live in Dale, Wisconsin. I have been into fitness biking for 3 years. As this will be my first ever tour, I am a little nervous about it, but excited too! Everything I have read promises that it will be a great experience. I have done several charity rides and completed my first century last summer, and completing this tour will be another first for me. I welcome any and all tips and advice from those more experienced!
